Hello and this an updated blog for murder and mayhem
Today, we’re moving on to the last activity and assessment before we’re changing into a different topic for SOS. The point of the assessment is to test our writing skills from others’perspectives on something. We did some practice of this type of writing by researching people who were with or against the conscription of the war. We had to practice from three different perspectives of the war and we have to explain why they agree or disagree with the war. Our class also had to show evidence of it too and answer some questions that are relating to the person.
After all of that, we start with our assessment. The goal is to test our writing skills from someone’s perspective and we can make some stuff up to the person who we picked for their perspective. We had many options to pick a person to write about. All the options were either with the conscription or against the conscription. I picked a person who was against the conscription because I felt like I could write a lot about him and have more creativity to make some stuff about him. To explain to the person that I picked in more detail, he was a man in his mid 30’s and he considers himself a pacifist. After that we started to answer questions but we have to answer it by imitating the person who we picked. We also have to write as a letter or a diary and we have to I rather they because we’re writing like we are the person.

Here’s the paragraphs that I wrote in the letter.
Dear Diary,
I received a letter in the mail that I was conscripted for the war. A lot of people considered myself a pacifist. I don’t want to go to war because I believe that violence is not the answer and should not be used for hurting someone. I also believed that violence doesn’t solve any conflicts between people or even countries and should be resolved in a peaceful manner. I don’t see eye to eye on the concept of war because it involves invading other countries and killing people for survival. The topic of war is heavily opposed when a person is a pacifist, but for some people they agree with war, as long as in the future there would be peace. I consider myself religious so killing or harming someone goes against the rules of my religion and won’t be tolerated. I don’t have the willpower to take someone’s life and instead I show compassion and support to someone.
The conscription says that I have to enroll in the army but I have a lot of reasons and evidence to not go to war. The first thing is that I don’t want to serve my country because this is the wrong way to solve any conflicts. My entire life I’ve been a catholic person that follows whatever god says and does. As catholic we could never kill a person because it goes against God’s rules. The other reason that I won’t follow the conscription is that It’s going to affect my physical and mental health. Currently my body is in good shape and I don’t have any fatal diseases. If I go to war I would get sick and injured or even worse die and I can’t stand my family to grief over my dead body. My family is very old and I work various odd jobs to support them. If I was gone, who would be supporting them ? and who would take care of them ?. I won’t see them in the last moments of my life because I’m sure that I would die on the battlefield.
Overall I like the Murder and Mayhem Topic a lot because we learned a lot like Urban legends and mass destruction. The main topic that I liked was about WW1 because it has a lot of history behind it too.

Dear Dairy,
Day 2
I just wrote this letter after they sended the conscription letter from yesterday, I’m giving this letter to give more of an idea about why I should not join the army,
Hopefully this is enough evidence to share with people who are in charge of this. I’m praying that they let me off the hook and I won’t be serving my country overseas anytime soon. I would rather go to jail and sit in a cell than fighting for a country that took our culture and land. I want to go to heaven and killing someone would diminish that chance to get to the promised land.
The main reason that I won’t obey what the conscription says is that It would affect me, my family and other innocent victims that have been forced to go to war. Other families would be torn apart and then every country that is involved in this war will get economic loss and there will be less jobs. I consider myself a pacifist which means that I won’t tolerate violence and I want to dissolve any problems in a calm way . As I write this diary for someone to look at, you’ve been wondering why I am very loyal and religious to my religion. Well the reason is that I want to live my life as a humble and honest man and being religious helps me to guide me in the right way of living life.I also want to live for a very long time and impact other lives.
I hope that I won’t get enrolled and I hope that God will answer my prayers. God almighty please save the souls of the people who will be participating in the war, save them God speed.

Hello and welcome back to my blog
Today I present to you my slides about the Gallipoli campaign. This is related to other murder and mayhem topics because this topic happened WW1. To summarise little about the Gallipoli campaign, it’s a campaign that the Allies and the Turks were involved with. The Allies wanted to take the Turks out of the war and get an easier path to German soil. The problem is that they underestimated the terrain that they needed to move from. The Allies planned a lot of attacks but failed due to the lack of movement of their troops and they couldn’t go to their positions. They faced a lot of oppression from the Turks and they aborted the campaign due to the lack of progress including have a lot of causalities.
For this blog we’re blogging our assessment about the campaign of it. We have to answer a range of questions with detail and add some photos that are related to the topic. In total we have to answer 15 different questions Gallipoli, but we also have to get our information from different articles. I read about 9 articles that gave me a lot of useful answers and facts that made me explain my answer in more detail. After that we made it, into a presentation in goggle slides and make the presentation appealing to the readers and viewers.

Hello and welcome back to my blog,
Today we’re exploring more about what happened in Gaillpoil and who was involved with it. When we were learning about Gallipoli, I didn’t know they were involved in WW1 at a place called “Gaillpoil”. I learned that Gailipoli is important to New Zealand because New Zealand were involved with it and they sent their brave soldiers to fight. I also learned about how much casualties there were which was where 220,000 soldiers died.
When we learned some information about the campaign of Gaillpoil, we did some tasks like mapping the Central Power’s position and Allies Positions. After that we read some diaries of a nurse in Gaillpoli and she was talking about the state of the place and the soldier’s morals. We answered some questions and then we had to make a poster about a person who was involved in Gaillpoil. The person I chose was Francis Earl Johnston and also answered some questions that were set for us.

Hello and welcome back to my blog,
For this week we go back to the topic of Murder And Mayhem and our new topic is about WW1. Personally I know a bit about what happened in WW1 but I have more knowledge about WW2. We had to answer questions like “What do you already know about WW1 And When Did It Happened”. After that we started to learned about the events Gallipoli and how New Zealand fought on the battle. Then we looked some statistics about what was the population of New Zealand back then and what was the percentage of how much people went to war. We also looked about what was the casualties of New Zealand soldiers during the war. Our task was to use the statistics to make a paragraph by using the lawyer’s paragraph. It just about stating your point and showing evidence of it too.
WW1 is significant to New Zealand because of how many brave soldiers lost their lives and it impacted negatively on the population and their loved ones.
It demonstrates how brave the soldiers were to volunteer to the war. It also shows how devastating the battle in Gallipoli was in which a lot of New Zealand soldiers lost their lives in the battle.
The campaign started in 1915 and about 120,000 young brave men were enlisted to go to fight in ww1. About 18,500 New Zealand soldiers died and 50,000 were wounded. In the campaign in Gallipoli it was a failed operation and 25% out of 130,000 men died during the battlefield and 2700 New Zealand soldiers. After the campaign, New Zealand and Australia weren’t involved in the war anymore because of how many casualties they faced at Gallipoli.
To sum up what I said, WW1 impacted New Zealand negatively because of how many brave men died in the war.
Reflection About Murder And Mayhem
In the past 6 weeks we’re doing the topic about Murder and Mayhem. To summaries it, murder and mayhem is all about historic events that ends up of a lot of people getting harm or even death. The first task we did in murder and mayhem was doing the timeline of different events in the past. Then after that we learned about The Bloody Code and what it’s purpose which was used for reducing crimes.
While we’re learning about the bloody code, we need to know more vocabulary words in the following tasks. There was a word placed out and we have to find the meaning and definitions about the words. In each new topic in Murder and Mayhem, we had to add new words when there describing the events and they would use the new words. Then we have to make line graph out of it about how much people got the death penalty. We had to remember the acronym of FAULTSPK

After we did the graph we list all of the crimes you can commit that can get you in the death penalty. Then we learned all about how to use The Lawyer Paragraph which is a type of way to write out paragraphs to show a lot of evidence and prove your point. After all of that we move to another topic which is The Convict Colony Australia. We had to make a presentation of the event and answer the following questions. We had to add a little description about it and add photos. Then after that we learned about what are primary sources and secondary sources and we had to do a task that consisted of us guessing if it’s a primary source and secondary sources. Then we moved to another topic which is the last topic for this term which is Jack The Ripper. We watched a video about him and who’s the victim. The video was very graphic and very realistic. The last task for the term was to do a criminal profile of him.
For this term I improve on understanding the topics that we taught us a class. I also improve on how to present it in different kinds of ways too. I would like to improve my writing skills and try to do more complex writing skills.
Jack The Ripper ( Criminal Profile)
Hello and welcome back to my blog,
Today i’m learning about a serial killer and he’s infamous for having an unknown identity. The serial killer is Jack The Ripper and he killed about 5 victims which were all women and prostitutes. He was from England in the 18th century and killed his victims between 1888-1891. He’s not known for how much he killed but how he killed his targeted victims. After he strikes with his knife to the victim’s neck, he would mutate them by exposing their organs in disturbing and weird ways. After we learn a lot about Jack The Ripper, we have to make a criminal profile about Jack The Ripper. We have to answer some questions about him like who is he and what his characteristics.
